The Student Life Division ensures the delivery of student-centred support across the student lifecycle that underpins the University's broader strategic visions by delivering support services and functions that facilitate and enhance the academic mission of the institution. The Student Life division provides support services and programs that contribute to the student experience and success, including in the areas of health, counselling, disability services, Orientation and Transition, retention, student wellbeing, and student engagement through the activities of the Flinders University Student Association.About the RoleFlinders University is seeking an Orientation and Transition Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of a range of student focused events and activities that enhance student experience and success, including orientation, transition, student communications, retention, engagement, and student wellbeing. The role is responsible for project managing, marketing, event planning, stakeholder management and working with a team of student ambassadors and casual staff.The main objective of this role is to promote student success. Key duties include coordinating, supporting and evaluating the delivery of innovative student Orientation and engagement projects and developing strong stakeholder relationships to manage all aspects of the orientation program and other student focused events.Furthermore, the Orientation and Transition Coordinator will:
- Provide regular reports and analysis on the performance of student success and wellbeing initiatives to key stakeholders and presenting findings to various relevant working groups and committees.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of orientation programs and activities.
- Recruit, train, and manage student casuals/student ambassadors to support Orientation and other student focused events and activities.
- Raise awareness of programs, supports and services that contribute to students wellbeing, success and retention
- Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
- High level organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise and manage competing stakeholder demands in the delivery of support services and related processes and systems.
- Program, project and event management experience, including experience in the delivery and evaluation of projects in a large and complex organisation.

- A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will also be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
