SalaryAccess Ortho is a dynamic and busy Urgent Orthopaedic Care Clinic, we have a clinic based in Indooroopilly and Ipswich. We are currently looking for casual / part time Nurse Practitioner for the Ipswich clinic.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner who has a special interest in Orthopaedic and Emergency care. The role of the Nurse Practitioner is to provide assessment, carry out early treatment including casting, arrange radiology, form a treatment plan and when required write an onward referral to an orthopaedic specialist in the clinic or refer to the public or private setting for surgery. The Nurse Practitioner will also be involved in patient follow-up care.
Access Ortho Nurse Practitioners are fully supported by specialist Orthopaedic Surgeons. The Nurse Practitioner works alongside the Orthopaedic Surgeons reviewing patients for follow-up care in set clinics during the week and all new cases are externally reviewed by Orthopaedic Surgeons to make a treatment plan.
Access Ortho provides a service for patients with acute injuries such as fractures, sprains and strains of the upper and lower limb. (No neck or back injuries). This service ensures that patients are seen rapidly and at an affordable price without the need for attending the emergency department or waiting for a long time to get an orthopaedic appointment with a specialist.
The Nurse Practitioner suitable for this role must have:
A special interest and experience in caring for orthopaedic injuries.
Be able to obtain a provider number for our locations that includes billing and referral privileges.
Be able and willing to work in a busy setting seeing many patients a day.
Be able to manage their time so patients are seen in a timely manner.
Be willing to take advice and instruction from skilled Orthopaedic Surgeons.
