A service based in Avoca is looking for a passionate and organised Assistant Coordinator for children in our before and after school care capacity. This is a permanent part-time position at 9 - 15 hours per week all year round - the perfect balance! 

Assistant Coordinator roster needed:

Wednesday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Thursday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Friday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

An additional 2 days are also available for the successful candidate in an educator position on the following days/times:

Monday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Tuesday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm 

Note that the above days may be able to be negotiated, with Friday being the one non-negotiable shift. 

About the role 

Co-leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years. You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.

  • Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into! 
  • Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
  • Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management 
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the service 

Based in Avoca, this tight-knit community have excellent communication and a warm OSHC relationship. There is another regular Casual Educator who works at the service and knows the families well. This role would provide you with plenty of professional development and learning opportunities, with the mentoring and support of a caring and hands-on Senior Coordinator. 

Who are we looking for? 

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have: 

  • Warmth, strong communication skills and rapport building are key
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage paperwork
  • Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it!) and a state check for working with children
  • Australian work  rights 
  • Preferably Diploma qualified, or willing to undertake a traineeship with us
