Catholic Early Learning and Care (CELC) is a part of Centacare FNQ, the social service agencies of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns. CELC provides exceptional education and support to families within Far North Queensland.
Your role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team at CELC as the OSHC Nominated Supervisor (Coordinator) for our new service at Saint Joseph’s OSHCare in Weipa. Working part-time (30 hours per week), this role presents an opportunity to play a vital leadership role to a small team, while establishing the service within the community. Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the service, including completing administration, financial and people management activities.
- Ensure service and employee compliance, including adhering to all policies, procedures, standards and legislation.
- Ensuring appropriate risk minimisation, and quality improvement planning activities are implemented and adhered to.
- Manage family and community engagement activities, liaising with key stakeholders and CELC management.
- Ensure accurate and timely management of Childcare Subsidy (CCS) processes.
Your skills and experience
Our ideal candidate, will demonstrate:
- Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent (e.g. Certificate IV in Out of School Hours Care)- or working towards.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an equivalent OSHC leadership position, with a preference for someone with experience operating as an OSHC which is part of a group (or similar) setting.
- Ability to work autonomously and be across all facets of the service, including overseeing program planning including design, delivery and evaluation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain supportive and trusting relationships with children and families.
- A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively facilitate teamwork, conflict resolution and support the development of others.
- Demonstrated ability to drive quality improvement and business outcomes.
- Capacity to work independently, with sound decision-making and time management skills.
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card, Senior First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training or willingness to obtain.
