Salary Applications are invited for a part-time Assistant Coordinator for a period of twelve months commencing mid/end April 2024. Hours will be 4 hours/day (Monday - Friday) commencing at 2.00pm and finishing at 6.00pm. Busier periods will require more than 20 hours per week (e.g., Vacation Care).
The Leeton Out of School Hours Care presently accommodates approximately 40 children per day and the primary purpose of the position is to ensure the service offers a caring and safe environment for the provision of childcare services for children between the ages of 5 – 12 years.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful applicant will have qualifications or childcare courses covering the age range 5-12 years, qualifications in childcare, early childhood teaching or primary teaching and recreation would be acceptable, with at least 2 years’ experience in childcare or a related discipline.
The applicant will also have sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
A current Working with Children’s check, First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, and Child Protection qualifications are essential.
They must show evidence of having received current COVID-19 vaccinations.
Salary & Conditions
The position is Grade 8 in Council’s salary system, $30.69 - $34.37 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience plus 11% superannuation.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement, the successful applicant may be required to undergo “Drug and Alcohol” screening and a functional assessment.
