A new service based in Essendon is looking for a passionate and organised Coordinator for children in our before and after school care capacity. This is a permanent part-time position at 31.5 hours per week all year round - the perfect balance!
Exact hours will be determined, but will be allocated between Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 09:00 AM (Rise then Shine Program) and 02:30 - 06:00 PM (Stay and Play Program) plus 4 additional admin hours.
In addition to a competitive salary, there is also a $500 commencement bonus at the completion of first month plus another $500 loyalty bonus at 12 months + split shift allowance + uniform allowance + other benefits + super.
About the role
Leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at a primary school in the hours before and after school for children aged 4-12 years. You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.
- Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into!
- Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
- Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration

About the service
Based in Essendon, this service would see you embedded in a small but vibrant school community, with an average attendance of 3 students before school and 12 students after school. The service operates from a shared hall, with access to a playground, tennis courts, an oval, kitchen and significant storage. With excellent organisation and communication, the school and its teachers assist with student information and activity planning.
Who are we looking for?
We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:
- Enjoy working with kids aged 4 - 12 (there is an ELC attached so you will have younger than primary-aged students)
- Strong and clear communication, with the ability to contribute to the school community
- Experience managing teams and developing staff
- Hold or willing to obtain a national police check (we'll pay for it!) and a state check for working with children
- Australian work rights
- Preferably have completed your studies in Early Learning Childhood Education (or at least be studying an ACECQA approved course)
