Packaging Technologist
Join our diverse team as a Packaging Technologist, where you will play a pivotal role in driving our packaging projects from concept to commercialization.
Your expertise will directly influence brand package maintenance, package innovation, cost-saving initiatives, and packaging usage reporting. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with external stakeholders such as APCO.
About the RoleAs a Packaging Technologist, you will manage packaging and print design changes within timelines and cost constraints, collaborate with various teams for improvements and savings, set print quality standards, and proof new designs. You will provide technical support to New Packaging Projects (NPD) and consumer marketing teams.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to design from scratch, bringing your creative and innovative ideas to life. You will work on a broad range of projects across our Libra, TOM Organic, and TENA brands. There is also ample opportunity to work closely with marketing and operations teams, providing a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

What You Will DoManage new packaging projects (NPD)
Optimize supply chain logistics through pallet models
Document and authorize materials’ technical performance and print specifications
Attend Supplier Liaison Meetings and engage with suppliers for new projects
Collaborate with various teams for improvements and savings
Set print quality standards and proof new designs
Provide technical support to New Packaging Projects (NPD) and consumer marketing teams
Maintain up-to-date artwork and specifications for palletisations
Drive initiatives related to formats, cost-saving, and sustainability
You are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with tertiary qualifications in a science or engineering-related field. A degree in packaging or printing would be highly regarded. Ideally, you have technical training in packaging design and graphics, and familiarity with FMCG NPD processes and product cost accounting/SAP. You also have:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
Strong analytical skills, communication, and project management experience
Experience with APCO reporting, knowledge of high-speed converting, flexographic, and gravure printing, and purchasing experience would be a plus
A consumer and customer-focused approach, highly organized and adaptable, with effective communication skills.
