The Role
Bega R&D Packaging Design & Development team; an exciting place to be where you can create magic through Art and Science on Australia's most loved Iconic brands.
We are looking for a highly experienced Packaging Technologist to join our Packaging Technology team and develop new packaging materials across the Bega Dairy and Drinks business in line with commercial and operational requirements. This is an end-to-end role, and is yours to own from design, development, and commercialisation! You will thrive in a collaborative environment and have a keen eye for the detail to drive results through world class packaging. An opportunity not to be missed!
Responsibilities
- Lead & execute Brand/Category Packaging strategy, development, and delivery through project activities, working across disciplines, functions and with outside suppliers
- Independently identify new packaging technologies and technical approaches which meet project objectives
- Maintain general and product specific packaging material specifications & trial reports.
- Serve as technical mentor to junior team members to develop new skills, share knowledge and ensure best practice opportunities are maximized across the business
About you
- Tertiary qualification required (Science & Technology, Engineering, Packaging degree will be an advantage)
- Experience working with different packaging formats such as rigid tubs, plastic bottles, caps, labels, flexible film, corrugated shippers & high speed line experience
- Have previous experience with Stage and Gate processes
- Good communication & collaboration skills with peers & stakeholders
- Enthusiasm, can-do attitude, and eagerness to learn
- Make timely decisions when dealing with uncertainty
