The role is variably part-time with flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle. In saying that we are looking for a permanent and committed individual to join our team and build with us. Roles are suitable for both experienced and newly registered psychologists with mentoring and support provided by our paediatricians.
About Us
Paeds Plus is a Private Multi-Disciplinary Paediatric Clinic providing care for children through a supportive team approach. Our expanding Team consists of Paediatricians PLUS OT, Psych, Speech Pathology and Dietetics who work together in all aspects of the child's care. We cater for the health and developmental needs of all children from birth to teen years.
Established in 2022 by Dr Gareth Kameron and his passionate team, our primary focus is to provide supportive integrated care for children and their families from diagnosis to therapy.
We believe in a collaborative approach, so you will never be on your own, lunch breaks are paid for and will include time to collaborate with other health professionals.

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed registered psychologist who is qualified and experienced in either developmental, educational or clinical psychology. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and your practice will be underpinned by evidence-based, family-centred and person-centred frameworks. We are setting up a psychologist team, and currently, we need for an experienced psychologist to take on patients who are on our psych waiting list.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Open to School-Based and Practice-Based Therapy.
- Enthusiastic about a career with the general paediatric population.
- Passionate about advocating for neurodiversity-affirming practices, i.e. embracing all brain types.
- Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective written communication skills for reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work independently.
- Great organisational skills, and time management skills.
- Prior knowledge or willingness to learn about disability, learning differences, Autism services, and child development.
- Interest in Play Therapy.
Eligibility requirements
- Hold a Degree in Psychology, with experience in educational, developmental or clinical psychology.
- Fully registered as a psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist. Provisional registration is not applicable.
- Current full registration with AHPRA by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Psychologist.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Education Department clearances for working in schools
- Professional Indemnity and Malpractice Insurance
- Current Working with Children Check
- Australian/New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption
- Essential
- Master’s degree and/or Endorsement in Clinical, Forensic, Clinical Neuropsychology or Educational & Developmental Psychology.
Preferable Criteria
- At least two years’ experience working as an Educational/ Developmental/ Clinical Psychologist, preferably in a paediatric setting with children, young people and/or families and teachers.
- A sound knowledge of laws and ethical standards governing psychological practice.
- Knowledge and experience in delivering clinical services in a cross-cultural environment.
- Highly developed written, conceptual, analytical, planning, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Experience with or knowledge of child protection or justice clients.
- Ability to work independently, manage own time to achieve deadlines and work as an effective team member.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, professionals, other stakeholders, and team members, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to identify own learning needs, strengths and limitations and seek out appropriate tools and resources to improve own skills and competencies as required.
- Attention to detail and commitment to achieving quality outcomes and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to learn quickly, show initiative and problem-solve with a positive attitude and growth mindset in a busy work setting.
- Demonstrated ability to be change-ready so that new processes and systems can be quickly integrated as we grow, improve, and evolve as an organisation.
