The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Allied Health Clinician (Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist) - Grade 3 to join the Community Pain Services team at Northern Health.

The Pain Service Coordinator - Grade 3 has responsibility for the organisation, implementation and management of the Community Pain Services across Northern Health. Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in clinical care and be innovative in further developing the Pain Service. The Community Pain Service Team Coordinator is responsible for the coordinating and managing the day to day clinical operations for clients referred to the service. The coordinator will facilitate the delivery of a high quality, responsive service which is patient-centre and goal focused. The coordinator will be required to demonstrate excellent leadership, organisational, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills. 

This role is permanent part time 32 hours per fortnight based at Northern Health Bundoora Centre and Broadmeadows Hospital. Due to the nature of the Pain Service, a working day must include a Monday or Tuesday. 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • A background which includes significant expertise in management of clients with complex and chronic pain
  • Experience in leading quality improvement activities, project management or service redesign 
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence-based practice
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
