Enn Dee Painting & Decorating  is seeking highly motivated, trade-qualified Painter with excellent workmanship standards in both commercial and residential painting. We are looking for skilled, honest, reliable, hardworking, and punctual individuals to join our growing team for ongoing employment.

75000 PER ANNUM Plus Super

Requirements

Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or at least 2+ years in the industry.

Experience: Ability to run jobs independently, work unsupervised, lead teams, and take responsibility. Candidates with Management qualification or experience is preferred 

Skills: Proficiency in using an airless spray gun (external/internal/gloss work) to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities 

Surface Preparation

1. Inspection: Assessing surfaces to determine the extent of preparation required.
2. Cleaning: Removing dirt, grease, and old paint using pressure washers, sanders, scrapers, and other tools.
3. Repairing: Filling cracks, holes, and joints with putty, plaster, or other fillers. Sanding rough spots to create a smooth surface.
4. Priming: Applying primers or sealers to prepare surfaces for paint, ensuring proper adhesion and longevity of the finish.

Painting and Finishing

1. Mixing Paints: Mixing and matching paint colors to achieve the desired hue and consistency, ensuring uniformity across large surfaces.
2. Application: Applying paint, varnish, stains, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
3. Special Techniques: Utilizing special techniques for decorative finishes, textures, or other specific requirements.
4. Detail Work: Ensuring clean lines and edges, especially around trim, fixtures, and other architectural details.

Post-Application Tasks

1. Inspection and Touch-ups: Inspecting painted surfaces for any imperfections and performing touch-ups as necessary to achieve a flawless finish.
2. Cleanup: Cleaning tools, equipment, and the work area. Properly disposing of unused paint, chemicals, and materials in accordance with environmental regulations.

Safety and Compliance

1. Safety Protocols: Following occupational health and safety guidelines to minimize risks associated with working at heights, in confined spaces, or with hazardous materials. Using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and safety glasses.
2. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the use and disposal of paint and related materials. Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and codes.

Customer and Team Interaction

1. Client Communication: Interacting with clients to understand their requirements and preferences, providing advice on color schemes, finishes, and other aspects of the project.
2. Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.

Equipment and Maintenance

1. Tool Maintenance: Maintaining painting tools and equipment in good working condition, performing routine checks and maintenance.
2. Inventory Management: Keeping track of inventory and ensuring an adequate supply of materials and tools for ongoing and upcoming projects.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring high-quality finishes with meticulous attention to detail.
• Problem-solving: Ability to address and solve issues that arise during the preparation and painting process.
• Customer Service: Effective communication and customer service skills to meet client expectations.

Transport and Tools: Own transport, white card, and necessary tools.

Language: Fluent in English.

Attention to Detail: Provide top-quality workmanship and take pride in completed work.
