The Position
An opportunity exists for a full-time experienced Painter & Decorator to join our maintenance team. We have plenty of ongoing work, as the successful applicant will be involved in the maintenance and renovations of Wests Group Macarthur venues. The successful applicant will know all aspects of the trade from preparation of surfaces, paints, products and finishes to ensure a high-quality product is achieved. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming
- Selecting and mixing paint colours to match project specifications
- Painting and plastering
- General maintenance duties and repairs
- Assisting with special projects involving club improvements and renovations
- Demonstrated experience as a painter
- Strong knowledge of colour matching and paint selection
- General building maintenance skills to assist with general maintenance in our hospitality venues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Physically fit & well presented
- Hold a current drivers licence
- Knowledge of WHS standards and a commitment to workplace safety
- Hold an WHS white card
- Must be available for weekend work on a 7-day rotating roster
- Trade qualifications as a Painter would be a distinct advantage
