Bear Cottage Children's hospice is situated in Manly and a facility of the SCHN. The CNE at Bear Cottage provides education and support to ALL staff and Volunteers working within the facility. Experience in Paediatrics and the ability to relate to a range of different disciplines is desirable.
Bear Cottage is a unique home like environment providing holistic care to the children and families who stay. The CNE will work alongside the nursing team ensuring the needs of complex patients are met. The CNE will also provide educational support to all members of the team and support the educational needs of the Volunteer program. Experience in education and training and an understanding of paediatric palliative care is desirable.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) will be responsible for the delivery and evaluation of clinical nursing education. The CNE will work in collaboration with the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) and Nurse Educator (NE) and wider hospital team to develop and implement clinical education relevant to specialities and basic nursing competencies.
The CNE will work collaboratively to support clinical education to others outside the ward/ unit when required.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer
- Demonstrated effective clinical teaching skills
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical and professional development
- Demonstrated advanced written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of NSQHS Standards relating to education
- Knowledge of adult learning principles
