Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for its Psychiatry Clinic in Lawson and Katoomba. This service is operated under the Medical Outreach – Indigenous Chronic Disease Program, through funding from the Rural Doctors Network NSW. The clinic is open to those on a low income and will give priority access to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Service Model:
The clinic operates out of a general practice in Lawson (2 days a month) and also an Aboriginal Health Service in Katoomba (One day a month). Bookings, referrals and billings can be handled onsite or remotely by your own private clinic. There is flexibility with this model. Linkages to general practitioners and other health services will be provided by the Nepean Blue Mountains PHN. Remuneration:
- Medicare Rebates (bulk billing only)
- Minimum income guaranteed
- Reasonable mileage or car hire
- Meal allowance
- ‘Absence from practice’ allowance to cover reasonable travel time to and from clinic
- Overnight accommodation allowance provided, if applicable.
- Fellow of the RANZCP
- Experience with, or demonstrated capacity to work with Aboriginal patients
- Willingness to undertake Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training (provided)
- Willingness to enter into a Service Agreement with NBMPHN.
