Part Time Counsellor

The Casino Food Co-op is a leading export food processor with production facilities located in Casino and Booyong, near Lismore, in the Northern Rivers area of the NSW Far North Coast. 
 We have an exciting opportunity for a Counsellor to join our team as part of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This role will work alongside our 2 existing counsellors and will provide counselling support to our employees to ensure their ongoing emotional wellbeing. The hours for this role will be flexible to suit the ideal candidate for the position. 

 The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:

• Provide emotional assistance to employees and their families as part of our EAP service. 
• Provide support to employees and their families experiencing emotional difficulties by helping them to identify and resolve issues within their personal and professional lives. 
• Building rapport, trust and respect with employees that utilise this service. 
• Identify needs and refer employees to other suitable professional services as required.
• Regularly liaise with support providers in relation to specialised problems.
   

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and abilities:

• A minimum qualification of a Diploma of Counselling 
• Previous experience in counselling will be highly regarded.
• High level of confidentiality. 
• Ability to show initiative, discretion and judgement when carrying out assigned tasks. 
• Experience in a culturally diverse workforce is advantageous.
• A positive and professional attitude towards work and recognition of the importance of the service which you are providing.
