As a not-for-profit, we drive most of our revenue through our partnership portfolio across our key pillars of High Performance; Participation programs including SurfGroms, our national Surf School network, grassroots Boardrider Clubs, community development and inclusion programs; our national event portfolio with 120+ event days per year; Media & Owned channels including a strong digital and social footprint as well as a dedicated award-winning in-house production team.

About the role:

We are proud to have the support of our commercial sponsors including Woolworths and Hyundai, who align with our core values and make a tangible contribution to the development of the sport. In this role your focus will be implementing their campaigns through our pillars (Events, Participation & Community, Media & Owned Channels and High Performance), onboarding new partners, and ensuring seamless delivery of all aspects of their partnerships. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and based at Surfing Australia’s High-Performance Centre (and Surfing Aust HQ) in Casuarina, NSW, 20 minutes from the Gold Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confidently lead a portfolio of current Partners, delivering their contracted deliverables and building strong, sustainable relationships that lead to successful partner renewals.  
  • Coordination of digital and social campaigns including deadlines, tracking, delivery and reporting with support from SA’s Media team.
  • Lead partner integration and activations for all Surfing Australia events with SA’s Events team.
  • Develop client campaign briefs for partner content and ensure completion of all activity by SA’s Production team.
  • Running regular internal and external WIPs, note taking, providing action points and execution of action points.
  • Implement and maintenance of department systems and processes – eg. Partner deliverables tracking, renewals calendar, supporting annual business plan, and support to Head of Partnerships for info related to budgeting, planning, and forecasting. 
  • Preparation of detailed and professional reporting including media and audience monitoring updates
  • Assist Partnership sales team in identifying new sales opportunities from time to time.

About You:

You are a highly organised, detail-oriented, team player with experience in managing multiple projects and relationships at once. You use initiative to get things done and have a solutions-focused mindset.

We are seeking a vibrant, passionate Partnership account service specialist who is excited to develop their career in sports and use their drive to deliver outcomes for our valued sponsors.   • You have knowledge of the Australian sports sponsorship and media landscape. 
  • You have an interest in sport and/or surfing. 

Your Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience and track record in a Partnerships or Account Coordinator/Executive role, Digital Marketing role or Client Service role
  • Digital Marketing experience including social, digital and eDM campaigns.
  • Event experience, specifically delivering experiential brand activations.
  • Experience in creating sponsorship proposals. 
  • Experience in creating and interpreting detailed, data driven sponsorship reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook (mandatory)
  • Experience using Project Management tools eg. ClickUp, Teams (desirable)
  • Experience using Media / Social Monitoring Software eg. Streem (desirable)
  • Experience using Email Marketing Software eg. Campaign Monitor (desirable)
