The Position:
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position, so the ideal candidate must be able to adapt and quickly learn the complexities of the business, whilst managing its continued organic growth. The current portfolio is sitting at about 430 short-term property listings, and they manage on average about 2,700 bookings per month. We require someone with a proven track record in a key leadership role, with solid experience in the short term accommodation/hotel/real estate sector and full working knowledge in Trust Accounting. This person will be a natural born leader with the ability to motivate the team of 16 staff across 2 states, and 30 offshore staff.
The Position:
As the General Manager you will be responsible for the successful execution of business strategies and objectives, overseeing daily Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Marketing. This role will also incorporate strategic management of clients and growth of the rental portfolio. Key objectives and responsibilities include:-
- Develop strategic plans for optimized productivity
- Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
- Uphold standards of excellence
- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
- Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Recruit, onboard, and train staff
- Full Trust Accounting
- Approve all expenses and bills
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and optimised
- Direct and oversee the Account Management function, ensuring that all clients are contacted on a regular basis
- Attend client meetings as required
- Delegate responsibilities to the best employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
- Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved
- Previous experience in a senior role such as General Manager/ Operations Manager
- Strong experience in a similar role within the real estate short term accommodation/hotel sector
- Strong decision-making capabilities
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, customers and stakeholders
- Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
- Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
