About the role:

As a Pastoral Care Officer, you will provide compassionate, and respectful spiritual and emotional care in our aged care facilities. You will work in a supportive team environment in collaboration with our staff, volunteers and local faith representatives. 

Our Pastoral Care Workers promote and respect the vision, mission and values of The Forrest Centre and ensures that our values of wellbeing, hospitality, respect, compassion and stewardship are reflected in all duties.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Understanding and implementing the Mission, Vision and Values of The Forrest Centre.
  • Coordinating and delivering a range of Pastoral Care services.
  • Providing ongoing emotional support and spiritual care to residents and their families within the aged care facility.
  • Attending to the sacramental / religious needs of residents as required.

About you:

  • Is committed to working within the Mission, Vision and Values of The Forrest Centre.
  • Has recent experience working in a Pastoral Care role in aged care, health care or welfare.
  • Holds relevant qualifications in clinical pastoral education (CPE), pastoral counselling or equivalent.
  • Can demonstrate an ability to be compassionate yet maintain professional boundaries.
  • Is able to understand and coordinate the sacramental needs of residents.
  • Has an understanding of the Catholic and Anglican ethos.

About us:

The Forrest Centre is founded on spiritual support and personal connection, we are a Riverina-based aged care provider. With almost 40 years of experience, we are a registered charity dedicated to ensuring elderly people in the region receive the care they deserve. Our services include at-home care for around 300 clients through Forrest Community Services, as well as residential aged care at Loreto Home of Compassion (76 residents), Mary Potter Nursing Home (70 residents), and The Forrest Centre Hospice (10 residents). Our team of approximately 250 staff share a commitment to respectful, compassionate, and people-centered care.

The Forrest Centre is Wagga Wagga's only independent, local residential aged care provider and are proud of our community heritage. We reflect our values of wellbeing, hospitality, respect, stewardship and compassion in every aspect of our daily operations.
