About Pastoral Services at Cabrini
The Cabrini Pastoral and Bereavement team is part of the hospital team who are trained to offer emotional and spiritual support for patients and families, when this may be helpful.
How you will make an impact
The Pastoral Care Practitioner will work closely with the Pastoral Care Manager and be responsible for offering spiritual and emotional care that addresses the needs of patients and families as well as providing grief and bereavement support to families.
We are seeking a candidate who is available to work three days per week across Cabrini Malvern. There will be shifts covering 8.30am to 4.30pm. Availability for on call weekend and public holidays as required.
Key responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with the Pastoral Care and health care teams to provide person-centred coordinated care.
Undertaking spiritual assessment and planning, delivering, documenting and monitoring the response to spiritual interventions.
Maintaining accurate patient records that comply with Cabrini’s policies and best practice standards.
Assisting with Memorial Services and other departmental activities as required
About You
You will be warm and compassionate with past experience in delivering Pastoral Care services in a healthcare setting.
You will also have the following:
A tertiary qualification in religious studies or theology or Pastoral Care or other relevant qualification
Supervised training in providing spiritual care (e.g. Clinical Pastoral Education)
Be an accredited Communion Minister in the Catholic tradition (desirable)
Possess intermediate-level computer skills and competent in documentation and reporting requirements in the healthcare setting.
Passionate about providing excellent, holistic and person-centred Pastoral Care in a multi-faith setting.
Warm, empathetic, approachable with excellent listening skills.
