The Hospital:The Royal Children's Hospital's (RCH) Vision is “A world where all kids thrive”.RCH is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children's Campus, partnering with Murdoch Children's Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics and The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas. The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds. Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.The RCH is committed to the .RCH enjoys high employee engagement and is committed to staff safety and a positive culture through enactment of our Compact.For further Information on RCH is available .The Role:Pathology Collection is an integral part of Laboratory Services - RCH Pathology. Pathology collection provides collection service for both and inpatients and outpatients The Royal Women's and the Royal Children's Hospital. It also provides a collection service for VCGS and other external Medical practitioners.We have 2 POSITIONS available - Casual. This position involves Pathology Collection services as rostered at Royal Children's and Royal Women's Hospital Pathology Collection.Victorian Department of Health has recently announced a program of reforms across the public pathology system in Victoria.As part of these reforms, the pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital will transition to a new separate public pathology entity. The new model for delivering public pathology services will present an exciting opportunity to improve the scope, scale and reach of pathology services and testing capability to all Victorians.As this role is with the Royal Children's Hospital, the successful candidate for this role will be initially employed by the Royal Children's Hospital. Once the new public pathology entity is fully formed, which is anticipated to be in late 2024, this position and the successful candidate's employment (including terms and conditions of employment) will transition to the new public pathology entity.   • Certificate III in Pathology Collection
  • Previous 3 years' experience in Public or Private Pathology Collection desirable but not essential
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Motivated to lead a team and contribute to a supportive Team working environment
  • Neat well presented
  • Reliable, Flexible with hours, rostering
  • Commitment to the job at hand
