Founded by the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (Perkins), Linear has Western Australia's only dedicated early phase clinical trials facilities located in Nedlands and Joondalup where we focus on early phase clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas.
Here at Linear that includes a broad oncology portfolio that continues to expand as we open the Advanced Cancer Trials Centre (ACTC) in early 2024, the first of its kind facility in Australia dedicated to bringing novel therapies through clinical trials to the cancer patients of Western Australia. The ACTC is situated on the QEII Medical precinct, directly next to the WA State Cancer Centre.
Job Description
Your role in our future
As a Patient Services Assistant reporting to the Clinic Unit Manager, you will be a vital member of our Cancer Trials team taking responsibility for providing quality food service to patients whilst ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety requirements are upheld.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with food orders, ensuring individual or trial specific dietary requirements are met.
- Collecting food orders from our vendors and delivering to site.
- Plating and servicing patient food orders.
- Overseeing the replenishment of food stock.
- Clearing and washing dishes, ensuring the kitchen is clean at all times.
- Ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are upheld.
- Tending to other non-clinical tasks such as taking stock of store rooms, basic administration assistance and receipting deliveries.

This is a part time 0.6 FTE role (4.5 hours per day Monday - Friday).
Your experience
To be effective in this role you should have a strong desire to grow in the job with the ability to take on a variety of tasks, whilst prioritizing your workload efficiently. The key to your success will be your:
- Certification in
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation and plating practices.
- Understanding of food safety standards
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work harmoniously within a team and across the organisation as a team player.
