About This Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Payment Services Officer to provide support, training and compliance advice relating to Accounts Payable policy, procedures, processes and systems.
Reporting to the Payment Services Manager, the Payment Services Officer position sits within the Procurement and Payment Services team which forms part of Finance and Business Services Division (FBS). Therefore, the occupant will be expected to apply a combination of financial knowledge and customer service skills to support the FBS Division and University in achieving its goals.
The Payment Services team are collectively responsible for central processing of payments for vendor invoices and miscellaneous payable batches and expense management. Payment Services Officers are expected to meet University and team expectations by ensuring all payments are made according to approved University policy and in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. The role maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to their Payment Service team and ensures the achievement of high standards of service quality, timeliness and accuracy in service delivery.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides efficient, consistent and accurate delivery of Payment Services transaction services within a large client portfolio that meet the strategic and day to day operational needs of clients
Resolves queries in a timely manner from the UQ community on Payment Services policy, procedures, processes and compliance obligations
Escalates any outstanding issues with the Senior Payment Services Officer or the Manager Payment Services to ensure a timely resolution and customer satisfaction with the services provided
Monitors and report any expenditure that may be in breach of University policy and procedure
Prioritises tasks and maintain sound organisational and time management practices in order to meet deadlines
Maintains effective working relationships with key stakeholders across a large and complex client portfolio ensuring the delivery of high quality Payment Services transactional services to meet client needs
Acts as first point of contact for Payment Services system users on production issues that affect the end user community and work with Manager Payment Services to effectively communicate outcomes
Ensures compliance of all Payment Services transactions with governance protocols, ensuring that University policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements, are followed and adopted appropriately in the client portfolio.
This is a Full-time,100% FTE, Continuing (Parament) position. At HEW Level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $75,878.89 - $84,342.92 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $88,778.30 – $98,681.22 per annum.
About You
Degree qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce or a related field, or relevant experience in transactions processing or shared services functions and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience
Ability to apply knowledge of finance systems, policies and processes to a wide range of financial transactions to ensure accurate, timely and efficient transaction processing
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and clients ensuring service delivery meets key requirements
Experience working with enterprise technology and software solutions and systems, utilising multiple user modules for the submission of a diverse range of data and information sets
Ability to work effectively within a team environment, whilst taking full accountability for the efficient delivery of set tasks within agreed timeframes and to agreed service standards
Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving and analytical skills to investigate and ensure data integrity in transaction processing, and the resolution of any issues within the parameters of policy frameworks
Experience working in service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments
