Working alongside the Payroll and Accounts Officer and under the supervision of the General Manager and Financial Controller, the Payroll Assistant will be a team player who will deliver accurate and timely payroll services for the organisation whilst maintaining high-quality and open communications with relevant department heads.
The Payroll Assistant will have extensive experience on payroll services which are not limited to:
- Processing fortnightly timesheets, leave forms and payroll, including data submission through STP
- Maintaining and reconciling fortnightly salary packaging payments and deductions
- Calculating and managing employee entitlements, including the long service leave calculation and payments to Portable Long Service Authority
- Calculating superannuation payments
- Creating and maintaining staff personnel files, records and information
- Working with the Salary Packaging provider to update, process and reconcile fringe benefits, including car benefits
- Calculating and processing pay increase and termination payments
- Processing workers compensation claims
- Complying with payroll related taxes, acts, awards and enterprise agreements
- Maintaining complete and accurate payroll database, and streamline payroll procedures
- Post and balance payroll records to ledger accounts
- Run end of financial year payroll processing and reporting
- Attending to general payroll enquiries
- Resolving payroll issues and discrepancies
- Assisting with administration duties as required
- Perform other duties as directed by the management
