Payroll/ Hr Officer

Due to a planned retirement of a long-term staff member, they have engaged us to assist in recruiting a Payroll/ HR Officer to join their small, friendly team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll/ HR Officer will be responsible for Payroll Management, HR and Payroll Systems, WorkCover Reporting, Compliance and other administrative duties.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

• Manage end to end payroll for fortnightly and monthly pays for approximately 100 employees (using Employment Hero). 
• Prepare EOM/ EOY/ Monthly, in conjunction with Finance Department. 
• Maintain knowledge of EBA.
• Process and provide reports on Workers Compensation to WorkCover/ EML. 
• Support/ develop systems/ procedures relation to taxation, Superannuation benefits and claims management. 
• Develop and maintain HR and payroll reporting to senior leadership.
• Support HR Manager in coordinating activities including recruitment, contracts of employment, induction and training.
• Ability to validate systems set up and data integrity and resolve business queries independently.  
• Coordinate and manage administration tasks across the group.
• Ensure all statutory payroll, superannuation and HR compliance requirements are achieved.
• Optimize the services/ benefits from Employment Hero. 
• Be the Subject Matter Expert on Payroll / Leave, taking accountability on educating staff and management/ usage of leave entitlements. 
• Provide training to new and existing staff on Employment Hero self-service. 
• Other administrative duties as required. 

The successful candidate is an experienced Payroll / HR Officer who enjoys learning new things and working in a diverse role, where you can make this role your own! 

• Previous experience in running end to end payroll, experience and knowledge in HR admin, interpretation of awards. 
• Ability to deliver high levels of customer service with a focus on solutions.
• Good time management, problem-solving mindset, proactive attitude and strong communication skills. 
• Someone with an inquisitive mindset and strikes a good balance of learning how the business works and also implementing new initiatives (new ways of doing things).
