Due to a planned retirement of a long-term staff member, they have engaged us to assist in recruiting a Payroll/ HR Officer to join their small, friendly team. About your roleReporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll/ HR Officer will be responsible for Payroll Management, HR and Payroll Systems, WorkCover Reporting, Compliance and other administrative duties.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Manage end to end payroll for fortnightly and monthly pays for approximately 100 employees (using Employment Hero).
- Prepare EOM/ EOY/ Monthly, in conjunction with Finance Department.
- Maintain knowledge of EBA.
- Process and provide reports on Workers Compensation to WorkCover/ EML.
- Support/ develop systems/ procedures relation to taxation, Superannuation benefits and claims management.
- Develop and maintain HR and payroll reporting to senior leadership.
- Support HR Manager in coordinating activities including recruitment, contracts of employment, induction and training.
- Ability to validate systems set up and data integrity and resolve business queries independently.
- Coordinate and manage administration tasks across the group.
- Ensure all statutory payroll, superannuation and HR compliance requirements are achieved.
- Optimize the services/ benefits from Employment Hero.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert on Payroll / Leave, taking accountability on educating staff and management/ usage of leave entitlements.
- Provide training to new and existing staff on Employment Hero self-service.
- Other administrative duties as required.

The successful candidate is an experienced Payroll / HR Officer who enjoys learning new things and working in a diverse role, where you can make this role your own!
- Previous experience in running end to end payroll, experience and knowledge in HR admin, interpretation of awards.
- Ability to deliver high levels of customer service with a focus on solutions.
- Good time management, problem-solving mindset, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Someone with an inquisitive mindset and strikes a good balance of learning how the business works and also implementing new initiatives (new ways of doing things).
