About the role
In this key role, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of a fortnightly payroll, payroll reporting, champion statutory compliance, ownership of the T&A System (Deputy) and leadership for the Payroll Coordinator.
Additionally, we are looking for someone who has the experience and drive to join the Implementation Team to assist with implementing a new payroll system as part of our digital transformation process.
Here, you’ll be a pivotal part of a vibrant team, reporting into the People & Culture department and regularly engaging with our Finance team. This is a great opportunity to merge your expertise with your heart for all creatures great and small by making a lasting impact within our organisation.
- Ensure fortnightly payruns are completed and approved on time.
- Interpretation of applicable awards and enterprise agreements.
- Ensure payroll and T&A system data is well maintained and up to date.
- Payroll reporting/analysis and statutory requirements are successfully managed.
- Experience managing year end.
- Manage reconciliation processes so that accurate data is posted to Finance.
- Processing superannuation.
- Lead and coordinate on-going reviews and audits of our pay system/processes.
- Lead and ensure regulatory compliance of the payroll function.
- Drive efficiency through continuous process improvement.
- Contribute as the payroll expert for IT transformation projects.
- Lead a small team and act as the core conduit between payroll, finance and people functions.
Who are we looking for?
- Minimum 10 years’ experience managing all aspects of payroll.
- Understanding of payroll implementation processes
- Understanding of Time and Attendance systems
- Ability to lead and coach team members.
- Sound working knowledge of current payroll and industrial relations frameworks (including Award Interpretation), along with industry best practice.
- Able to influence, engage and support key stakeholders whilst maintaining the collaborative culture.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure best practice payroll and workplace outcomes.

This is a full-time position, based at the Wacol Animal Care Campus. Remuneration is commensurate with qualifications, experience and skills.
