The role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager of Payroll and People Systems to lead and enhance our Payroll and People Systems teams. This role involves driving operational excellence, implementing robust and commercially viable HR solutions, and aligning with strategic objectives. The successful candidate will blend expertise in HR processes, technology solutions, and project management to deliver exceptional services across the employee lifecycle. What you’ll bring to the role As a senior leader at A&G, you'll model our values and culture, driving high performance with integrity and finding solutions that benefit all stakeholders. You'll lead, coach, and develop the Payroll and People Systems teams by managing payroll and HR transactions, developing performance metrics, ensuring compliance, leading system enhancements, and optimising financial performance, while modelling A&G's values and fostering a high-performance culture. Additionally, your responsibilities will be focused on the following areas: Lead, coach, and develop the Payroll and People Systems, ensuring operational excellence and a focus on employee experience. Manage direct reports, promoting continuous improvement and high performance. Celebrate successes and cultivate a culture of integrity and high performance. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement SLA/KPIs to monitor and improve processing performance across the team. Develop and implement a compliance framework across People Systems. Maintain awareness of changing legislative and compliance requirements, ensuring appropriate management of risk and control processes, and oversee internal and external audit responses. Actively manage the operational budget, resource assets, and leave planning to deliver strong financial performance and identify opportunities for improved financial outcomes, including effective management of vendors and partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system enhancements and process improvements, with both technical and business acumen. Lead the implementation of new modules within the HR technology suite and new HR technologies to maximise technology investment. Identify opportunities for automation within the current HR technology suite and other business systems across multiple divisions. Qualifications and Experience: You are a seasoned leader with extensive experience in Payroll and HR technology functions. Skilled in managing payroll processes, HRIS systems, and HR legislation, you excel in translating business strategy into effective programs and initiatives. You have a proven track record in project and change management, delivering measurable results and improvements. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. With a deep understanding of HR technology solutions and a focus on continuous improvement, you drive operational excellence and enhance team performance. Your commercial acumen and strategic vision make you a valuable asset in optimising our Payroll and People Systems. You will also possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; postgraduate preferred. Proven ability to develop engaged, high-performing teams. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. Experience in change management, relationship building, and commercial acumen. Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
