My client is located in the south east suburbs in Melbourne and are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist. This role is responsible for the processing of the monthly and fortnightly payrolls as well as liasing with managers to ensure accurate time sheeting. The role also requires you to liaise with key managers through the business and assist employee with any payroll related questions.
Your tasks & responsiblities:
- Processing fortnightly and monthly payroll
- Processing payments associated with payroll such as workers compensation, parental leave entitlements and termination payments
- Processing of payroll related tax lodgements, superannuation contributions etc.
- Providing administrative support such as filing, archiving, employee data maintenance, contracts and letters
- Calculating periodic financial accruals
- Developing and preparing regular and ad-hoc KPIs and reports
- Liasing with internal and external stakeholders on payroll related topics and questions
- Contributing to continuous improvement activities to optimize and stabilize payroll processes
- Supporting HR function, esp. in Compensation & Benefits topics
Your experience:
- Degree or certificate in Payroll, Accounting, HR or similar
- Self starter who can work as part of a team and autonomously
- In depth payroll knowledge and experience and ability/confidence to manage the payroll function independently
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and efficiently structure work packages
- Strong IT skills, esp. in Excel, and affinity for systems and processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to succeed in a dynamic, un-structured environment and to implement processes
- Ability to engage with stakeholders and educate in payroll topics
The ideal candidate has experience in Employment Hero / Employment Innovations as a payroll system. The candidate needs a can do attitude and happy to work from the office, although some flexibility is offered.
