St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1400 students (K-12) in 2023. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is entering its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A temporary full-time parental leave replacement position commencing 29 April 2024 (start date negotiable) until 20 December 2024. The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential. The successful applicant will be required to teach PD/H/PE and Religious Education.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in PD/H/PE.
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.
- The ability to teach Studies of Religion.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching the nominated Key Learning Area (s).
- Level B Accreditation in accordance with the To Work, Teach, and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
- The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required before your employment with CEDoW.
