About the role -

St Pius Banyo are seeking a part-time continuing Physical Education Teacher and Sports Co-ordinator who is an enthusiastic and passionate educator who can inspire students within a physical education environment.As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

• Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
• Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
• Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
• Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
• Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

Maintaining and ordering of sports equipment Aspects of the Sports Coordinators role includes, but are not limited to:

• Selecting & organising paperwork for students to attend District Sporting Trials
• Organising & training St Pius students for School, District & Zone Carnivals…Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics
• Attending the (4) Zone 6 Meetings each year
• Organising other sporting opportunities for our students: Rugby 7s, Catholic Cup Netball, AFLQ Schools Cup.
• Additional non-contact time is provided to support processes involved with organising above-mentioned carnivals and sporting events.

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Health and Physical Education, as well as:

• Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
• Commitment to child safety
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven organisational skills
• Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
• Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:

• Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
• Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
