The Mental Health Therapy Services develops and provides individual and group peer support, specialist assessment, consultation and evidenced-based psychotherapies as part of consumer’s treatment within Barwon Health's Community Mental Health services. This includes dedicated Peer Workers, occupational therapy, art therapy, ASD services, comprehensive psychotherapy programs for personality disorders and/or a history of trauma, education on personality disorder, and trainee programs. This is an innovative and expanding service which will be based in our new MH and Well-being hub in Central Geelong.
About you
- Trained in the delivery of a peer led approach to service delivery
- Lived experience of mental illness (distress)
- Lived experience of engagement with public Mental Health services
- Lived experience of Recovery and capacity to reflect on personal recovery processes
- Previous experience delivering groups
As guided by the Lived Experience Discipline Lead, Senior Peer Worker and the Operational Manager of the Therapy Services team, you will:
- Provide individual and peer support to people with a lived experience of mental distress who access Therapy Services
- Work collaboratively with therapists and Peer Workers to deliver peer groups
- Participate in interprofessional team meetings
