Job Title: People and Culture Consultant

Sector: Health Promotion and community services

Annual Salary: Up to $88,000 + 11.5% super + Charity salary packaging tax benefits to boost your take home pay.

Location: natural light filled, new office in CBD fringe (Carlton) and hybrid work from home

Role Type: Full-time 75 hours/fortnight, perm, on-going

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced People and Culture Consultant to join our People and Culture team in the For-purpose health promotion sector for Diabetes Victoria. We are dedicated to reducing the impact of all types of diabetes on people, families, communities and health systems across Victoria. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full range of employee lifecycle touchpoints within the P&C function. Reporting to the Head: People and Culture, this exciting role is a mixture of operational and strategic HR activities in a constantly evolving environment where no two days are the same. HR and Learning systems experience essential. With no direct reports, this role requires a genuine self-starter who thrives on achieving positive outcomes for others and themselves.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice and assistance on the implementation of human resources systems, policies, projects and procedures.
  • Delivering training sessions on complex human resources procedures.
  • Leading recruitment activities: reviewing job descriptions with Hiring Managers, advertising roles and conducting interviews - through to onboarding and induction set up.
  • Assisting with performance management processes.
  • Dealing with workplace relations issues such as complaints, conflicts, grievances and misconduct, and providing support and advice to management on these matters.
  • Coordinating workplace health and safety initiatives as well as fun engagement activities for staff.
  • Work with team leads to promote a learning culture where professional development is implemented through on-the-job activities and skills sharing.
  • Coaching and advising hiring managers on relevant policies and legislative/ EEO requirements.

Skills and Attributes

  • Adept at using HRIS software Essential - [Employment Hero highly regarded].
  • Demonstrate exceptional candidate care throughout the recruitment, onboarding and induction processes to promote our respected employer brand.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders (hiring managers, team members and Leadership team).
  • Effective multi-tasking and time management skills while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team, aligning personal values to organisational purpose and strategic direction.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR management or related field or equivalent relevant health sector experience.
  • Proven track record of full employee lifecycle administration management across entry level, mid-senior and senior roles across diverse functions.
  • Cleared police check and 2 references required.
