The Role
Our People and Development team is seeking a full time HR Assistant based in our Sydney office. Reporting to the People Operations Manager, this role will be an integral part of the People Connect team which provides generalist support to employees and Partners of the firm.
This role supports the People Connect Team with employee policy and procedure queries, preparing employee correspondence, scheduling of onboarding and exit meetings, preparing the onboarding and orientation programs, employment history checks, etc. This role will also be engaged on key process enhancement projects.
A passionate, self-motivated professional with skills and experience in administration, Excel and reporting are highly desirable. You will be articulate, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a positive, proactive team player.
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the People Connect Team with the administrative component of the employment lifecycle, in accordance with our national policies and procedures.
Working collaboratively with People Connect team members in other local offices to support employee queries logged through our People Connect phone line and inbox.
Assisting the P&D Coordinators with the new starter orientation program.
Assisting with conducting regular audits and updating data in Workday (HRIS) as required.
Assisting with the maintenance of practising certificates for our legal practitioners and notify the relevant Law Society of changes to practitioner employment.
Support other ad hoc administrative requests (e.g. process invoices, order merchandise, administer visa applications, book travel etc.).
Employee file maintenance and archiving.
Skills & Experience:
HR Bachelor degree/ Diploma (recent graduate or completing degree outside of working hours).
Experience working in a business environment (desirable but not essential).
Strong customer service mindset.
Excellent administration and organisational skills.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Excel and Microsoft Office suite skills.
The People and Development (P&D) team
With a presence in each of our offices, the national P&D team forms part of our Business Advisory Services department. The P&D team provides strategic business partnering support to the business on P&D issues, driving and delivering a range of initiatives to ensure that Clayton Utz is a great place to work.
