Your opportunity
We are seeking a helpful Human Resources/People Assist Advisor to join our experienced and supportive national HR team and be the initial point of contact for HR queries and provide first-level HR support to employees across the organisation.
Reporting to the People Assist Manager, respond to HR queries, triage complex issues to other HR and IR specialists, record and monitor HR queries through our My Service Centre (an internal technology solution) and provide relevant information/reports.
In this pivotal position, you will also support and coach our people leaders to ensure they are performing their roles fairly and consistently and provide backup support to our HR Transactional Services team (HRTS), Compliance and Payroll team for queries management during high-volume periods.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be required to:
- Respond to all in-bound HR related cases and triage complex issues as appropriate
- Provide first-level support and guidance to people leaders and employees with their HR queries
- Monitor HR dashboards to ensure cases or queries meet SLA and provide regular reports and analysis
- Support and coach people leaders on internal HR systems, company policies and procedures
- Identify process improvement areas and assist with new or updates/developments to current processes
- Create employment documentation, including employment contracts for new staff and variation contracts for existing staff, as required
- Support the implementation of new technology and provide assistance to HR, HRTS and Payroll teams
- Actively contribute to project work as required to support the MA People & Culture Plan
- Previous HR advisor experience (preferably 3+ years) and relevant HR qualifications at degree or diploma level
- Working knowledge of modern awards, enterprise agreements and HR policy/procedural application and interpretation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information well to all levels
- A quick learner with strong MS Office and HR systems proficiency in applications such as Service Now and iChris
- Conflict resolution and problem solving capability with excellent attention to detail and customer-service skills
- Demonstrable ability to provide sound advice and guidance on issued related to performance and conduct
