The Vikings Group or ‘Vikings’ is a well-known and integral part of the Canberra community, particularly for families and community groups in Canberra’s southside. They are known for supporting their community and local sporting groups with support for over 50 sporting and community groups and helping over 7,000 athletes each year to have the opportunity to participate in sports and create a sense of belonging.
Vikings is more than just a great community club to meet friends and family for a good meal. It has become a key part of the Canberra community, sporting teams and lifestyle - who hasn’t played against or watched a Vikings team in one sport or another? They are now looking to continue to grow their HR internal capability and better support their diverse workforce.
The expanding People and Culture team need an experienced HR professional to join their team, to oversee and lead these functions, reporting to their Head of HR. Below is a snapshot of the key responsibilities:
Advice and support to managers and staff on conditions of employment, compliance with people and workplace polices and processes;
- Supporting and educating managers with complex people management matters;
- Designing and implementing a range of strategic HR initiatives;
- Development of their employee engagement and diversity and inclusion programs;
- Introduction and management of internal HRIS and employee data;
- Guiding and growing the small P&C team.
Ideally you will have several years HR expertise under your belt and relevant HR qualifications to complement your experience. This role supports managers and employees at all levels so your empathetic and caring nature will be key to success and the ability to moderate this approach with ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, under modern awards and WHS legislation.
Salary range is $100K-$120K plus super, depending on experience.
