About you
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.
The Clinical Educator is an employee who is registered with AHPRA as a Registered General Nurse and
Midwife and who through tertiary education is prepared as an expert educator.
In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Managers the Clinical Educator actively provides necessary learning
opportunities for staff in designated areas, using a variety of teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying perioperative staff education/training needs through training needs analyses, liaising with the Director of Clinical Services, Clinical Manager, Learning and Development Co-ordinator and WHS Co-ordinator regarding needs of perioperative personnel.
Providing appropriate knowledge and support to preceptors of both graduate and undergraduate nurses.
Planning, implementing and evaluating the staff development program for perioperative staff of the Hospital. Program includes internal and external training, education sessions, in-service lectures.
Co-ordinating the Graduate Program. Orientating to the Hospital, co-ordinating placements and being a support and resource person for them.
Maintaining records associated with staff development programs
What you bring
AHPRA Registration
Tertiary qualifications in Nursing
Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
Relevant post graduate qualifications in relevant area(s) of expertise and/or education are highly desirable.
Demonstrated the ability to effectively teach and preceptor nursing staff.
Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate clinical experience in relevant specialist field(s).
Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership qualities.
