About the Role
Joining the team on a permanent part-time basis, this position will oversee the education program for the Perioperative Department, inclusive of 7 Theatres including Coolenberg Day Surgery.
The successful candidate will help create a dynamic and friendly team and be responsible for:
- Coordinating and delivering an education plan for the provision of the highest standards of patient care.
- Facilitating department based training and clinical competency assessments.
- Being an integral member of the clinical team orientating and educating new staff.
- Support novice staff to develop skills in anaesthetics/PACU and scrub/scout roles
This is hands on role requiring an exceptional candidate that can not only deliver formal training but also lead, coach, and inspire others through practical on the job training.
Your Skills and Experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Recent perioperative experience
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Demonstrated leadership skills with excellent communication skills and ability to effectively negotiate
- Positive role model and demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Organised, efficient and professional with highly developed clinical problem solving skills and advanced skills in nursing assessment
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently where required
- Innovative and flexible approach to education delivery

The Hospital
Port Macquarie Private Hospital is a 72-bed acute Medical/Surgical and Rehab facility with 6 operating theatres, 6 Renal Chairs and a Day Surgery complex and is continually growing its services. Comprehensive Medical/Surgical services are offered with 24-hour Medical Officer Support including Rehabilitation, General Medical, General Surgical, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Bariatric Surgery, Urology, Plastic & Ophthalmology.
Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
