As a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department at Fairfield Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical practice and professional development among nursing staff. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing educational programs, providing hands-on training, and ensuring adherence to the latest evidence-based practices.You will conduct skills assessments, facilitate continuing education courses, and mentor new and existing nurses to enhance their competencies in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This position requires flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including morning and afternoon shifts, to accommodate the diverse learning needs and schedules of the nursing team, ensuring consistent, high-quality patient care around the clock..What You'll be Doing
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes..Where You'll Be Working

  • A post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Demonstrated understanding of competency-based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
