We have a rare opportunity for a Part-time Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Department based in our Hawthorn East office. This role is ideal for a tertiary qualified and will provide accounting support to all aspects of Mayfield Education's business operations. This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day transactional activities of the Finance Department to ensure the timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, General Ledger Reconciliations, Payroll, end of month Journal Entries and maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, a successful candidate will have proven experience and knowledge in demonstrating the following 5 Key elements.
Days : 7 days a Fortnight
Tuesday - Thursday Non-Payroll Week 3 days.
Tuesday – Friday Payroll Week 4 days.
Key Elements
1. You are tertiary qualified with previous experience in using MYOB Accounting Right.
2. Demonstrated sound knowledge of General Ledger Reconciliations, Accounts Payables, Account Receivables, Payroll, Taxation including GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, together with a strong working knowledge of Excel and integrated accounting systems
3. Possess excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to engage with a range of key stakeholders, both internal and external.
4. Proven ability to demonstrate and develop strong relationships with clients and team members.
5. Ability to priorities own work and to take the initiative and responsibility for ensuring deadlines are met.
Experience and Qualifications
Tertiary Graduate Qualification or Advanced Diploma in Accounting
Experience in accounting software and specifically MYOB is essential.
Senior bookkeeping experience including general ledger reconciliations to trial balance.
Reconciliation and preparation of statutory returns including IAS, BAS, and Payroll Tax
Intermediate Excel skills
