THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Permit & Isolation Officeris responsible for the development of Safe Work Practices (SWP) and isolation plans.
You will also be responsible for the development of day-to-day Isolation and Permitting requirements, coordinating, and facilitating isolation requirements relating periodically and in conjunction with shutdowns and providing support to the Production and Maintenance Supervisors where possible.
This position is specific to the Pilgan plant and operates on an 8/6 (days only) roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland. Flexibility in rostering to cover the Shutdown schedule on occasion would be expected.
Key responsibilities also include:
- Support Supervisors and Process Trainers in allocating training to Permit and Isolation Officers
- Develop required isolation plans and apply isolations as required during planned and unplanned shutdowns
- Create post-shutdown review reports and recommendations in the aim of continuous improvement
- Prepare work permits and assign isolation lists specific to the scope of work
- Deliver Permit to Work and Complex Isolation training
- Advocating a safe working culture and contributing to achieving an LTI-free workplace
- Assist with incident investigations as requested, utilising your expertise to identify recommendations and actions
ABOUT YOU:
- Solid experience in fixed plant process operating, with a strong understanding of minerals processing, including milling and gravity circuit, flotation circuits, Heavy Media Separation (HMS), Tailings Storage Facility (TSF), Filter Press and Control Room operations
- Competent in Permit to Work Systems and standards
- Certificate III Metalliferous Mining (desirable)
- Sound knowledge of mining, safety and environmental legislation
- Intermediate Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint
- Microsoft Project (desirable)
- Sound understanding of P&ID design and review
- An excellent communicator with the ability to give clear and concise instructions
- Alignment and advocacy of Company values
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- Sufficient in GANTT analysis
