Large component of the scopes will have brownfield elements; strong design capabilities on brownfield projects is key.<\/span><\/span>The successful candidate is expected to be able to lead and coordinate the design deliverables, coordinate work amongst the team, ensure technical integrity of the deliverables and conduct work in line with company procedures. - ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management process.<\/span><\/span>\tprepare\/assist and oversee the production of engineering drawings and documentation.<\/span><\/span>\tensure all drawings and documents are checked in accordance with Company checking procedures.<\/span><\/span>\twork done is on time and within budget; and\u00A0<\/span><\/span>\tparticipate in project reviews as required.\u00A0<\/span><\/span><\/ol>

- Assist in scoping requirements and estimating design budget in response to requests for Lead Engineers.<\/span><\/span>\tSupport the discipline in interviewing candidates for the project.<\/span><\/span>\tCommunicate effectively and regularly with the project Lead Engineers, other discipline design teams, Workshare team and Project Engineers\/Managers on design progress, technical matters, workshare, and resource planning.<\/span><\/span>\tEstablish and maintain good working relationships within Company, with its clients and other.\u00A0<\/span><\/span>\tstakeholders.\u00A0<\/span><\/span>\tIdentify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.<\/span><\/span>\tInterface with the instrumentation and control discipline to complete design scope.<\/span><\/span>\tWhere working in the capacity of the project design lead:\u00A0<\/span><\/span><\/ul>

- Initiate, manage and supervise, design and drafting assignments with the home office and Workshare team.<\/span><\/span>\tEnsure technical integrity of the discipline\u2019s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities.<\/span><\/span>\tProvide technical direction, control and supervision for design on the project.<\/span><\/span>\tDeliver the discipline\u2019s design deliverables within schedule and budget.<\/span><\/span>\tManage quality and consistency within the discipline.<\/span><\/span>\tCoordinate change control and technical query process within the discipline.<\/span><\/span>\tManage discipline resources assigned to the project.<\/span><\/span>\tReport progress of discipline deliverables.<\/span><\/span>\tResolve discipline technical issues.<\/span><\/span>\tMaintain discipline task and deliverables lists for the project.<\/span><\/span>\tCoordinate design with other disciplines and squad checking deliverables.<\/span><\/span>\tMotivate and manage the team\u2019s performance, competency and develop staff within the group including the provision of on-the-job training.<\/span><\/span><\/ol>What you\u2019ll have<\/strong><\/span><\/span>

- A recognised design qualification (Advanced Diploma) in the relevant discipline or recognised Electrical trade qualification.<\/span><\/span>\tA decent relevant experience in designing and drafting with promising experience recently in resources (or closely allied) industry, BP preferred.\u00A0<\/span><\/span>\tProven lead role experience managing designers on multiple brownfield resources projects.<\/span><\/span><\/ul>Essential:<\/strong><\/span><\/span>

We’re looking for a Principal Electrical Designer to join our Perth team.
As a Principal Electrical Designer, you will be focusing on the primary purpose of this role is to drive and deliver safe and sustainable electrical design on a for various sustaining capital projects.
