AddressDFP Perth are seeking an experienced Permit Room Officer to engage on a temporary contract with a State Government agency based in Kwinana.
Start Date: ASAP - Notice Periods Considered
Length of Assignment: 2 months – possibility of extension
Location: Kwinana, 6167
Hours: 3/2 2/3 (Monday to Friday) roster 12-hour shifts
Role Description
The Permit Room Officer coordinates work permits to ensure the safety of all personnel performing work at the Outer Harbour. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and authorizing Permit to Work forms, ensuring completeness and signatures from all relevant parties.
- Ensuring appropriate risk management measures are in place for all Permit to Work forms.
- Coordinating isolations of plant and equipment with relevant personnel.
- Maintaining currency and accuracy of the Permit to Work register.
- Facilitating communication with Operations and Maintenance to minimize disruptions.
- Overseeing removal of isolations and clearing of lock boxes upon completion of work.
- Experience in safety and health within heavy industry at a trade level.
- Knowledge and experience with permit issuing highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in report writing and analysis.
- Demonstrated teamwork abilities.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license.
