About the Role
Our Manor Lakes team is seeking to add dedicated and experienced Personal Care Workers to their team of passionate health professionals on a Part-Time basis.
We currently have the Permanent vacancies across our AMs and PMs shift lines. The vacancies we have are:
- Thursday, Friday (Week 1) and Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Week 2): 07:00am to 15:00pm
- Thursday, Friday (Week 1) and Thursday, Friday & Saturday (Week 2):14:45pm to 22:00pm
- Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Both Weeks 1 & Weeks 2): 14:45pm to 21:30pm
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Both Week 1 and Week 2): 14:45pm to 22:00pm
At Uniting AgeWell, Personal Care Workers co-ordinate Personal Care for residents in accordance with care plans which meet their individual needs and preferences. Working within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective clinical and emotional support to residents, recognise changes in residents’ conditions and escalate observations and concerns.
- Deliver high quality, person centered care to residents and families, including consideration for cultural, spiritual and individual needs
- Provide Personal Care to residents with complex needs such palliative care, dementia support, restorative care and pain management to enhance their wellbeing
- To support nursing staff regarding assessment, care planning processes, documentation and evaluation of care outcomes
- Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
- To monitor the cleanliness, safety, environment and promptly report issues of concern
- Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with -residents, their relatives and friends
- Ensure quality and appropriateness of equipment, clothing and other personal items for residents
About You
You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents to support them to live life to their potential!
- Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent (Aged Care)
- Experience in residential aged care
- Experience with dementia care and palliative care support (desired)
- Demonstrated abilities to support residents in a fast paced environment with exemplary communication skills in a team and one on one interactions with all levels of care partners
- Demonstrate respect, kindness and integrity when providing care to residents' families and team members
Essentials for working in Aged Care
- Current and required flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
- A current Working With Children’s Check
- Have Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearance
