We are seeking applications from qualified and experienced Personal Care Workers to join our BlueStar Community Aged Care team - Russian/Ukranian/Polish/Hebrew/Yiddish/Hebrew speaking will be highly regarded.

About the Role
As a BlueStar team member you will provide personal care and support to assist clients living in their own homes, so they can remain independent longer.
Our qualified and professional carers will assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, hygiene and mobility), meal preparation, grocery shopping, social outings and activities, transport to appointments, community venues and events, companionship, flexible respite so family carers can take time for themselves, and overnight care.
You will have experience working with and understanding the issues of frail aged people, people with dementia, people with disabilities and their families.
Our clients are based in St Kilda, Windsor, Prahran, Elsternwick, Caulfield, Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Bentleigh & Surrounding Suburbs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with a range of personal care, meal preparation, companionship and transportation to appointments and social activities
- Support clients to maintain and develop independent living skills and routines
- Monitor the physical, social and emotional well-being of the client and report issues
- Be responsible for taking immediate action in an emergency to ensure the safety of clients, themselves and the community
- Develop an effective, positive and respectful working relationship with clients respecting their cultural values and beliefs
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or Nursing qualifications (Essentail)
- Prior experience working in In-Home Care or Community Aged Care
- Current Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle (Highly Desirable)
- Availablity to work min 20hrs per week (Monday to Sunday)
- Ability to monitor client wellbeing and communicate concerns to service co-ordinators and team leaders
- Ability to relate and communicate with older people, people with dementia and their family
- Warm and caring nature, wanting to help elders in our community
- Ability to speak Russian, Polish, Hebrew, Yiddish would be highly desirable
