ABOUT THE ROLE

We have multiple positions available for Personal Support Workers across various locations. You will be working with people with disabilities who needs assistance in day to day activities such as personal care, transportation, meal preparation, shopping, medications and for a clean maintenance of the home. 

You will be assisting the participant in the homes they live in in accordance with their care plan in providing a participant with the best care for them to live a full and meaningful life. The shifts available would suit someone who is able to work across a range of hours including weekdays, evenings, active/non-active overnight shifts and weekends. If you have aged care, in home care or assistant in nursing experience, you will enjoy and flourish in this role

Tasks & responsibilities

• Provide support to NDIS participants with disabilities
• Assist with personal care, transportation and help with independent living skills
• Administer and document medication and follow health support plans
• Manage behavior triggers and escalation
• Adequate Documentation and Reporting
• Assisting participants to attend medical and therapy appointments
• Engaging with participants in conversation and fun activities
• maintaining the home in clean and tidy condition

Essential Criteria

• NDIS worker Screening Check and Police Check (if you do not have it yet, please apply before interview)
• First aid/CPR
• Full driver’s license
• NDIS orientation and induction modules completion (can be completed after interview prior starting the job)
• Willingness to learn and provide quality support
• Up to date Covid vaccinations
• Available to fulfil a rotating roster including weekends and nights

Desirable but not essential

• Experience in Aged Care Sector or worked as Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Assistant or as a Care Service Employee
• Experience in using Mobility Aids such as Wheelchairs, Hoists, Ceiling Hoists etc 
• Qualification in aged care, community care, individual supports or disability supports
