Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and client-focused individual with over 3 years of experience in Personal Tax return preparation. The ideal candidate will enjoy client interaction, possess strong communication skills, and have a keen interest in specialising in Personal Tax services. This role involves working with a wide range of clients, including investors, small sole traders, micro-businesses, partnership businesses, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review Personal Tax Returns for a diverse client base.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored tax solutions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client value through our firm’s wider services, such as financial planning and finance.
- Liaise with varying divisions within our firm to coordinate comprehensive client services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Provide expert advice on tax-related matters and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Support junior accountants with their training in Personal Tax Returns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong client service orientation and excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software packages like Xero and MYOB.
- Experience with Xero Tax (preferred).
- Ability to identify client needs and recommend appropriate services.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to keep up to date with legislative changes and industry trends.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of Personal Tax Returns, including deductions, car claims, capital gains, and other related areas.
- Ability to navigate and apply various tax deductions effectively to maximize client returns.
- Expertise in managing car-related expense claims for tax purposes.
- Proficient in calculating and advising on capital gains tax implications for clients.
- Familiarity with the latest tax legislation and changes to ensure compliance and optimal client outcomes.
- Capability to provide tailored advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Experience in handling tax matters for micro-businesses, ensuring their specific needs are met and optimized.
- Ability to work with the Financial Planning team around tax advice and matters.
