About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to lead our team at our Entrance location and contribute to the overall success of our pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, counseling patients on the safe and effective use of medications and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements.
- Provide counseling and advice to patients on the safe and effective use of medications, including dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Conduct medication reviews and assessments to identify and resolve any medication-related issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication histories, allergies, and relevant health information.
- Monitor medication therapy outcomes and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Participate in pharmacy programs and services, such as vaccinations, health screenings, medication management services and methadone administration.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures, including medication storage and handling requirements.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and expiry date monitoring.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with patients and healthcare providers.
- Stay informed about developments in pharmacy practice, new medications, and healthcare trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated experience working as a pharmacist in a community pharmacy setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and computer literacy.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, as required.
