What You Will Be Doing
The Pharmacy Technician Team Leader is appointed to a specific team. In addition to the tasks undertaken by a grade 2 Pharmacy Technician, the Team Leader - (Rosebud, TMC & GLR) has additional responsibilities to:
- Work at TMC, GLR and Rosebud (may be required to work at all sites)
- Mentor and support rotational (Grade 1 & 2) technicians rostered in their sites.
- Allocate the work effort of technicians in their area (in consultation with the senior pharmacist) to deliver the most efficient delivery of services and routine maintenance tasks. This includes dispensing, imprest top ups, bedside drawer top ups and allocation of breaks.
- Orientate technicians to their site and roles (including the At Home Subacute pharmacy service) and preparation of dose administration aids.
- Set standards and expectations for their team and promote continuous improvement in the quality and effectiveness of work undertaken.
- Participate in the delivery of Pharmacy services including accurate product selection, data entry, accurate distribution, dispensing, manufacturing and pre-packing.
- Provide orientation, mentoring, training and support to technicians rostered across Rosebud, TMC and GLR.
- Oversee the stock management and participate in stock take across all sites.
- Carry out inventory maintenance tasks, including ordering, goods receipting, stock rotations, and maintain clean stock storage areas.
- Liaise with key members of the care team (eg Nurse Unit Managers, nursing and pharmacy staff) on matters of pharmaceutical supply, ordering or maintenance
We anticipate you will have:
- Establishes positive effective relationships in the work environment
- Demonstrated ability to supervise a team to achieve best patient outcomes
- Able to communicate effectively with team members, clinical staff and managers
- Demonstrated personal organisation skill with excellent communication and liaison skills.
- a current driver's license
- Completed (or working toward completion of) Certificate IV in Hospital and Health Service Pharmacy
