About the job:

  • Sustaining NSW Families Program is building two (2) enthusiastic and motivated teams across two (2) new sites, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens/ Raymond Terrace/ Lower Mid Coast. Each of the sites requires a Paediatric Physiotherapist one (1) day per week in a consultative role to join this Nurse Led Multi-disciplinary Team.
  • The Lake Macquarie/Newcastle site will be situated at Wallsend Health Campus.
  • The Port Stephens /Raymond Terrace/Lower Mid Coast team will be situated at Raymond Terrace, with travel across this geographical area required.
  • In this role you will work one day a week face to-face in a consultancy capacity, attending case reviews and supporting Child and Family Health Nurses and the families in the program. A typical day will include team case review, education, consultation with Nurses or other Allied Health Members and potential visits to see the baby/child.
  • Support will be provided by the Manager, NUM 1/Co-ordinator and the Multi-disciplinary Team. Education and orientation to the program will be provided at the commencement of the program and ongoing as required.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Holds qualifications recognised for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and holds general registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia/AHPRA.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness and ability to travel for work purposes.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to work in collaboration with a Multi-disciplinary Team to provide support and improve outcomes for babies/children and families from pregnancy to 2 years of age through clinical consultation, advocacy, and education.
