About the role
We are seeking expression of interests for experienced Maintenance Planners to join our Thiess maintenance crews across our various sites in the Bowen Basin
As Thiess's next Maintenance Planner you will provide maintenance planning and scheduling capability in support of the project's ancillary equipment maintenance activities. You will be responsible for the management of the ancillary equipment maintenance systems to ensure the reliable and productive operation of heavy equipment.
Working a 5/2/4/3 day shift roster and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your duties will include:
- Produce, review and maintain rolling monthly, quarterly and annual plans as well as equipment specifications, tyres and undercarriage tracking files.
- Maintain currency and accuracy of equipment maintenance history, work orders, job records database and technical information on processes, plant and equipment.
- Identify potential work using an effective condition monitoring program and financial package based work programs and provide guidance and support to the Superintendents and Supervisors
- Develop weekly agreed maintenance plans using equipment strategies to facilitate maximum production and minimise downtime and costs to meet plant availability and reliability targets.
- Align other maintenance activities such as defects and breakdown repairs with periodic maintenance and provide updates on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that work planned is completed within allowed budget and resources by cost effective use of subcontractors to maintain and service mobile plant and ancillary equipment.
- Assist with the procurement and freight of parts and services and ensure full reliability of parts and equipment is retained while stored, only using approved suppliers and hire equipment.
- Maintain accurate and effective costing reporting as well as support documentation and ensure all completed work orders are closed out.
- Effectively use the company's financial package to produce, review and maintain equipment lists and contracts and raise work orders for all maintenance activities.
- Coordinate warranty claims and ensure warranty forms are lodged with OEMs for components and repairs using approved warranty processes and site documentation.
- Identify project-based opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs to increase effectiveness and efficiency by eliminating repetitive, costly or low-value work.
- Utilise predictive maintenance processes to raise re-work requests and organise any additional maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all materials, parts, personnel, tools, permits and equipment is available for execution when required by the plan.
- Be responsible for the mobing and demobing of equipment to Site.
- Assist with critical lift plans.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external clients. You will also have;
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications
- Two years' experience in a maintenance planning role
- Previous experience in a supervisory role will be highly regarded
- Experience in plant management and document control systems is desirable
- Knowledge of maintenance and planning systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Advanced MS Project skills
- Experience in use of maintenance tools i.e. JDE
