Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Planner to join their professional team based in their Perth office. The business has experienced significant growth over the last decade and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced candidate to join the team. The Marine Division builds a wide variety of vessels and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading shipbuilding contractors undertaking new build construction, repair and refit of small to medium sized vessels. The program of work you will be working on is in the Defence shipbuilding sector. You will plan, maintain, analyse and report on Performance Measurement Baselines across a number of programs. You will be providing support and assistance to the Project Controls Manager in schedule development, schedule planning, schedule management, status and variance reporting. Duties include but not limited to: Optimising use of Open Plan Professional, Primavera and Microsoft Project in development and maintenance of the Program Contract Master Schedules (CMS) Maintaining the Performance Measurement Baseline and adhering to Configuration and Contractual Change Control requirements Providing timely and accurate advice and reports to the Project Controls Manager and Program Leads on schedule performance and analysis Liaising directly with Project and Production Managers to provide operational schedules and performance reports Responsibility for the monthly output of formal Earned Value Management reporting and analysis in collaboration with the Accounting team Providing support and specific tools to the Program Leads for the purpose of project planning, reporting and progress measurement Providing support to the maintenance of the Program Risk Register Skills & Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or similar discipline Previous Marine, Mining or Heavy Engineering experience is ideal Exceptional communication skills Highly articulate with excellent attention to detail A high level of organisational and time management skills Advance Computer skills using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong knowledge of Open Plan Professional and/or Primavera Previous experience using ASDEFCON and COBRA in the Defence sector is highly desirable This is a permanent full time position providing a great opportunity to work with an established organisation who offer challenging work.
